The last time I was on TV, I was 15 years old.
I just spoke to the producers friend and she said “don’t prepare anything”. Apparently, when you prepare something, it becomes difficult.
I’m thinking to myself: ‘REALLY?’
Ok, I admit, I have no experience. Can anyone with knowledge please advise.
The show is tomorrow. I’m not sure what I’m supposed to feel. Could this be a controlled form of excitement? — feeling limited excitement with Zaszima Abu-Samah and 2 others.

Mazlyn Mustapha So just be myself? Ok, that’s the part I worry about the most.
-
Mazlyn Mustapha Lavanya: unfortunately, no, it will be about education (politics would have been a much better topic but hey, that turn will come soon enough)
-
Zaszima Abu-Samah I always asked for questions they plan to ask. Would want to be prepared for soalan cepu emas and diplomatic answers. All the best. Start with bismillah. May Allah guide your speech. Ameen.

Lim Lian Cheoo Ya, be yourself , nothing to prepare unless you know what they going to ask. You have no problem, Iron Lady … Just open & fire, have no fear
-
Noorshin Ng Ask them what kind of questions to expect. Somtimes they will share the questions or topics allocated to them. Better not to prepare. Be yourself.
-
Noorshin Ng Get to know the interviewer or moderator. Feel more relaxed if we bonded for a while, even a few minutes.
-
Thomas Crown Just relax. Nobody knows what u r reading or script anyway. If possible, have someone behind the camera to be ‘ur mirror’ and give u feedback realtime; ur mannerism etc. How many times i hv interviewed people on a daily talk show only to see their dress or their tudong or the paper that their read sort of get in the way of presentation. How do i tell a person when we r on camera all the time? So thats 1. Just breathe normally and talk naturally. Many try to highlight so much in so little time and use your body language, smile and pretty please..dont just look at the person/host/interviewer IF the subject matter concerns the public. LOOK AT THE CAMERA WITH THE RED TALLY LIGHT ON. Make sure you know which camera you are talking to, you would be surprised how detailed you can be on TV from a camera that seemed far from the stage, hence your ‘mirror’. If you are to read from stacks of paper, open the staple, better movement rather than folding the paper alllll the way to the back.
-
Thomas Crown Dont forget to get someone or your mirror to take picture of you WHILE your are on tv, talking your piece. No flash. Big no no. Practice. Plus take photo with the hosts/presenter too…maybe.
-
Thomas Crown Get ready with cepumas questions, unexpected questions. Sometimes, many hosts like to capture their guests off guard. Dont immediately show ur surprised look or scrambling for notes when a simple smile and reiterating urself WHILE searching for a good answer OR asking him or her to repeat the question can give you ample time to compose a suitable answer.
-
Thomas Crown Use pause to good effect. As well as intonation. Have a look at how obama or jfk talk during their speeches.
-
Thomas Crown Be wary of incriminating questions, entrapment hence the knowledge of questions to be asked prior to recording. Would you rather play safe? Hehe..good luck
-
Mazlyn Mustapha Boy am I glad I am only reading this now LOL
